TOUR CODE: AVB601 2D1N MT TRUSMADI CLIMB (VIA KAINGARAN TRAIL TAMBUNAN)

Sabah’s Mount Trusmadi is Malaysia’s second highest mountain at 2,642 metres (8,668 ft). It is located about 70km southeast of Kota Kinabalu city and its forest reserve covers an area of 184,527ha supporting a wide range of unique flora and fauna. Mount Trusmadi consists of lowland and hill mixed dipterocarps forest, lower and upper montane forests and summit scrub. The Kaingaran Trail is 4.9km from starting point to summit but many say it offers a tougher challenge than Mt Kinabalu. Take your time to climb and be amazed at the changing vegetation zones through lowland to montane forest, sub-alpine short conifers, mosses and ferns with frequent sighting of pitcher plants and rhododendrons. At 5:30am catch a spectacular sunrise (weather permits) over the surroundings and view of Mt Kinabalu at the far distance.
